Suspect Detained at Police Headquarters

KUALA LUMPUR: A 31-year-old driver suspected of involvement in a fatal hit-and-run accident on the Bukit Jalil Highway has been arrested. The tragedy claimed a young girl’s life and left her parents seriously injured.

Sequence of Events

The accident occurred at 9:50pm on Nov 15 when a vehicle struck a motorcycle, throwing its passengers onto the road. Although passers-by rushed the victims to the hospital, the seven-year-old girl succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

Case Progression

“We are submitting the investigation report to the State Prosecution Office for charges under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” ACP Mohd Zamzuri stated.

Viral Video Sparks Outrage

The incident was captured in a widely shared dashcam video. The 28-second clip shows a high-speed luxury car hitting a motorcycle, briefly stopping, and fleeing the scene.
