BANGKOK: The Malaysian Consulate in Songkhla has issued a travel warning to Malaysians, urging them to reconsider plans to visit Southern Thailand due to severe flooding triggered by continuous rain.

Ahmad Fahmi Ahmad Sarkawi, the Consul General, cautioned travelers about the ongoing situation. “The extensive flooding in Southern Thailand has caused significant displacement of residents, and we urge Malaysians to exercise caution,” he said in his statement on Thursday (Nov 29).
Safety Precautions for Malaysians

Floods Impacting Seven Provinces
According to the DDPM, seven provinces, including Pattani and Surat Thani, have been severely affected, displacing more than 136,000 households and disrupting daily life across 50 districts and 321 sub-districts.
Relief Operations Underway
Emergency response teams have been mobilized with equipment such as boats, water pumps, and portable water production units. Volunteer groups and local authorities continue to work together to provide immediate relief and assess damages for financial assistance.
