Johor Immigration Officers in Johor Arrest 75 Undocumented Foreigners
JOHOR BARU: The Johor Immigration Department has arrested 75 undocumented migrants in an extensive enforcement operation conducted over two days in different parts of the state.
State Immigration Director Datuk Mohd Rusdi Mohd Darus reported that most of those detained during the operations on Tuesday (March 4) and Wednesday were Myanmar and Indonesian nationals.
Inspection at Pandan Wholesale Market Uncovers Illegal Workers
“The first enforcement action took place at 3pm in the Pandan wholesale market area, which is known to be a gathering point for foreign workers.
“Our officers checked 20 business premises and screened 66 individuals. After verification, 35 people were detained for immigration-related offences,” he said during a press conference on Thursday.

Midnight Operation at Bandar Baru Permas Jaya
Another operation was carried out at 12.30am in Bandar Baru Permas Jaya, targeting additional locations suspected of employing undocumented workers. Immigration officers inspected nine business premises and questioned 64 foreign nationals.
“As a result, 40 individuals without valid documents were arrested,” he stated, adding that the raids followed numerous public complaints about illegal workers in the area.
Detainees Placed in Immigration Detention
The arrested individuals included 30 Myanmar nationals (nine women), 30 Indonesians (19 women), 11 Bangladeshi men, two Pakistani men, and two Vietnamese men, all between the ages of 18 and 55.
In addition, seven notices were issued to individuals required to assist in the investigation. The detained individuals have been transferred to the Setia Tropika Immigration Depot pending further legal procedures.
