When Every Second Matters
PETALING JAYA: In critical emergencies like cardiac arrest, every second is crucial. MyresQ, a pioneering medical app, aims to cut response times by notifying nearby rescuers immediately.
Tracking Impact Since Launch
The app, introduced in March, has been activated in 459 emergencies across Malaysia. Nearly 28% of these involved cardiac arrests, while others included fainting and chest pain cases.
Origins of Innovation
Dr. Mohd Afiq Mohd Nor, an emergency physician, revealed that the idea for MyresQ came from a 2022 incident where CPR assistance was unavailable. Collaborating with colleagues, he created and tested the app over three months.
Revolutionizing Response Times
By alerting rescuers within a 500m radius, MyresQ enables help to arrive in under four minutes—significantly faster than the average ambulance response time of 17–20 minutes.
Training and Awareness
Dr. Afiq stressed the need for widespread AED use and CPR knowledge, emphasizing the app’s role in increasing accessibility to life-saving equipment.
Empowering Communities Nationwide
Available across Malaysia, MyresQ equips users to act swiftly in emergencies, transforming bystanders into lifesavers.
