
Investigation Continues
KUALA LUMPUR: Authorities have recorded statements from nine individuals as part of the investigation into the recent bullying case at Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM).
Confirmation of Statements Taken

Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa, the Kuala Lumpur police chief, confirmed that statements were gathered from the 19-year-old victim and eight others since a report was filed on November 8.
“The suspect, a senior cadet at UPNM, will have his statement taken at the Cheras police station later today. We are investigating this under Section 325 of the Penal Code,” Comm Rusdi stated on Monday, November 11.
Call for Public Cooperation
He also advised the public against making assumptions about the case.
“We urge everyone to allow the police to conduct a proper investigation without interference,” he added.
Details of the Alleged Bullying Incident
The case revolves around allegations of bullying at UPNM that caused injury to the victim.
According to the police report filed on November 8 at around 8:40 pm, the victim, a first-year student, was injured after roll call on October 21.
“The 19-year-old victim sustained fractured ribs and spine after being stepped on by a third-year cadet. He is still receiving medical attention,” Comm Rusdi shared.
Defence Minister Reacts to the Incident
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin emphasized that bullying will not be tolerated in any form.
“Such incidents are unacceptable and tarnish the reputation of UPNM and other educational institutions. We are fully committed to assisting the police with their investigation,” he affirmed.
