Chinese Mixed Doubles Pair Wins Gold at Paris Olympics

China’s top-ranked mixed doubles badminton pair, Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong, have won their first Olympic gold medal at the Paris Olympics.

They defeated South Korea’s Kim Won-ho and Jung Na-eun 21-8, 21-11. This victory makes up for their loss in the Tokyo Olympics final.

Zheng and Huang’s win marks China’s first badminton gold at the Paris Olympics and the fifth mixed doubles gold in the country’s Olympic history.

This gold also brings China’s total gold medal count at the Paris Olympics to 13. In the Tokyo Olympics, Zheng and Huang were the top seeds but lost in the final to their teammates. This time, they have achieved their Olympic dream.
