JOHOR BARU: The Magistrate’s Court has discharged a 65-year-old man accused of slapping an individual for eating in public during Ramadan, though the case remains open.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Nur Fatihah Mohd Nizam informed Magistrate A Shaarmini that the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) had instructed the case to be referred back to them, leading to a discharge not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA).
This decision came moments after the court scheduled the next hearing and was in the process of setting bail.
