Snorkeling Trip Turns Nightmarish for Foreign Tourist in Perhentian Islands

A foreign tourist’s snorkeling trip in the Perhentian Islands took a terrifying turn when she was scammed and threatened with a knife.

According to a TikTok video by “@itsrafaaa,” the woman and her sister were recommended a snorkeling trip for RM30 per person by a female restaurant employee.

After the trip, the boat operator demanded more money, leading to confusion and a heated argument with the female employee, who insisted they owed an additional RM70.

Although the woman reluctantly agreed to pay another RM30, the situation escalated when a friend of the employee appeared with a knife and chased them. The woman urged Perhentian Islands staff to clearly list prices and advised tourists to verify costs before engaging in services.
